02 August 2010 - 60 Squadron receives new aircraft

It has been announced that VSAAF will be acquiring Lockheed C5 Galaxy's and will be allocated to 60 Squadron (Heavy Transport). They will be joining the current aircraft serving with 60 Squadron, Airbus A400M and the Boeing 707's that are used for air to air refueling.
Currently it is unsure when these aircraft will arrive, but they are to be expected soon.

27 July 2010 - Museum Shackleton to do Tribute Flight

The VSAAF Historic Flight Squadron Shackleton is to make a flight in remembrance of Pelican 16 that went down over the Sahara when is was on route to the UK. 

Maj Gareth Robb is to pilot the Shackleton that will be making this flight. Pelican 22 will first be brought up to Swartkop AFB where the Historic Flight Squadron is based. There it will undergo some major checks and services before taking flight to the UK.

28 July 2010 - New Airbus A400M arrives for VSAAF

Yesterday the VSAAF received its Airbus A400M with new VSAAF Livery's. These aircraft will be allocated to 60 Squadron, and be used for heavy transport.
